Your Role in the Organization
Hey, I’m William Torkildsen. I’m an internal medicine doctor in South Texas. I’m chairman of Valley Organized Physicians, which is our value-based independent physician organization. I’m also a certified coder and clinical documentation specialist.
Before ForeSee
Before, when I would do my annual wellness exam, my annual attestation, I would, of course, go through pretty much the entire medical record just to make sure that I had everything captured.
And so that was a pretty time-consuming process for me. I’m pretty obsessive about it. I’m a coding person, so it might take me 20 minutes, sometimes 30 minutes, to do a complete review of a medical record.
After ForeSee
I think the big advantage with ForeSee was that, after a while, I got to trust the accuracy of what they were presenting on the disease cards compared with the diagnoses that I was previously submitting. I got to trust them enough where I was satisfied with their disease card presentation that I didn’t have to sit down and dig through the entire medical record.
I’ve got doctors with 700–800 patients—if they’re saving 10 minutes or 20 minutes per patient per year, that’s a big, huge chunk of time. I guess the way to say it is that it’s able to save a lot of time without sacrificing accuracy.
I saw an improvement in risk scores of about 0.15 to 0.22 on average within the same doctor in the same practice when they used ForeSee, as opposed to when they didn’t use ForeSee. So there was definitely an advantage there, and we’ve used that information to motivate our doctors to take the time to utilize ForeSee.
If your physicians are still spending 20–30 minutes per chart, there’s a better way. Discover how ForeSee helps organizations save time, improve accuracy, and capture the full value of their patient population.
